Raphael Ibeawuchi Sopuruchi
Video Editor · Videographer · Visual Storyteller
I am Raphael Ibeawuchi Sopuruchi, a video editor and videographer working out of Lagos, Nigeria. I started where most editors start, cutting clips for people around me, and kept going until it became the thing I do every day for brands, organisations and creators.
Most of what I do sits between two points: what a client has, and what they actually want an audience to feel. Footage, voice notes, a rough idea on a call. My job is to find the story living inside that material and cut everything that is not it.
That work spans social edits that need to land in three seconds, brand films that need to feel considered, and nonprofit documentaries where the responsibility is to the people on camera first. Different formats, one discipline: make it clear, make it move, make it honest.
Every piece of footage is somebody’s moment. My job is to make sure it is worth watching twice.
A transition never saved a weak cut. I find the spine of the story first, then decide what the polish should do.
Where a cut lands decides whether someone stays. I edit to rhythm, cutting anything that makes the viewer wait for no reason.
Great work that arrives late costs the client the moment. I scope honestly, communicate early and deliver when I said I would.
From a single social cut to a full campaign shot, edited, graded and run. Pick the piece you need, or hand over the whole thing.
Full-length edits assembled with intent. Story structure first, then pacing, colour, sound and finish until the cut carries itself.
Reels, TikToks and Shorts built to survive the first second. Hook-led edits with captions, rhythm and a reason to keep watching.
Brand films and product spots that say one thing clearly. Built around the message the audience needs to walk away with.
Conferences, launches, weddings and church programmes filmed and cut into highlight films people actually rewatch and share.
Field documentaries and impact stories told with dignity. Human-first footage that helps organisations report, fundraise and advocate.
Creative built for performance, then run and watched. Variations tested against the metric that matters instead of guessed at.
Titles, lower thirds, kinetic type and animated logos that move the way the brand sounds. Clean, readable, never decorative for its own sake.
The stills that live around the video. Thumbnails, covers, flyers and campaign graphics designed to match the film they belong to.
A cross-section of the work: documentary, brand, event, short-form and performance creative. Open any one to watch it.
Software is only ever the instrument. These are the ones I know well enough to stop thinking about while I work.

Product launches, brand films and promotional spots built to carry one clear message across every format.
Ongoing editing partnerships for creators who need a consistent voice and a reliable weekly output.
Conferences, launches and celebrations covered end to end, from shoot day through to the highlight film.
“We handed over three days of messy field footage and got back a film that made our board go quiet. Raphael understood the story before we could explain it properly.”
“One shoot, and he pulled an entire quarter of content out of it. The short cuts outperformed everything we had run before, and nothing ever came back late.”
“He is the rare editor who handled my ads campaign smoothly.”
Tell me what you are making, who it is for and when you need it. I reply to every serious enquiry within one working day.
